Armin Strom ups its mojo for 2016 with Edge Double Barrel. With its striking movement design and larger case size, the manual-wind wristwatch brings a vigorous intensity and gutsier attitude to the brand.
Although it keeps the DNA of the brand fully alive, this new Armin Strom Edge Double Barrel is a strong evolution of the approach previously used: new design for the case, new design for the dial and mainly, new visual approach for the very well manufactured in-house movement. While the previous watches of the brand were playing with curves – both for the bridges of the movement, for the indications or for the case – this new watch sums up its concept in its name – Edge. It’s pointy, its sharp and it is definitely bolder than ever.
Edge Double Barrel’s ARM16 calibre features unusual geometric and angular components. Spider-shaped crown wheels visually dominate the dial, complemented by large Arabic numeral hour indicators and the 60-second register with power reserve indicator. Unconventional cross-grinding decoration of the hand-beveled bridges intensifies the watch’s industrial feel. The bezel is enhanced with a series of cutouts. The larger 46.80mm diameter provides more depth and dimensionality to the calibre.
